Sutton Lake - is actually two lakes joined by a narrow channel, with homes sporting spectacular views along the banks, many having their own boat docks and boat houses. The homes on lakes north of town have the luxury of being located in the Haceta Water District which is very good water. This includes Sutton Lake, Mercer Lake and Collard Lake. The homes on Lakes south of town are on well water, so if this is an issue with you these lakes will be more to your taste.
Sutton Lake is located 4 miles north of Florence Oregon, just east of Highway 101 with a good boat ramp adjacent to the Highway. Sutton Creek meanders through the the coastal lowlands from Sutton Lake to the Pacific Ocean, only a few miles away.
Being just a few miles from the Ocean provides a whole different climate than right on the Beach. Surrounded by a dense forest unbelievably lush and beautiful protects you from the winds and cold air off the Pacific Ocean. If you leave the house on one of the Lakes to go to the Beach, take something warm to wear, it can be considerably cooler at the Beach.
Sutton Lake, like most lakes in the area provide great fishing. Sutton Lake is a fertile lake with a variety of aquatic plants, lily pad fields line the banks, providing good habitat for the bass, perch and trout.
