Florence real estate is expanding rapidly as the population soars to 8,000 plus and is a central hub for shopping and services to a market base of approximately 22,000. Florence is the largest community in western Lane County with excellent medical care, which is great considering it's a retirement destination. Florence has plenty of shopping and usually has the lowest gas prices anywhere on the coast.

Florence is small enough that neighbors know one another and when shopping or at the post office etc. you will be amazed that this is one of the friendliest towns in America. This is quite a shock if you are moving here from the city but there is nothing like moving to a new area and being welcomed with open arms.

If golfing is your bag you will be happy to know Florence Oregon boasts two nice 18 hole golf courses, one of them the Sandpines Golf Links was voted Best New Public Course in America by Golf Digest in 1993.
