East Florence Real Estate

Many people love the Mapleton Oregon area because it's only 15 minutes to the Pacific Ocean and beaches, located on the Siuslaw River which has fantastic fishing. The climate is ideal for gardening, it's far enough from the Ocean for the warmer summer days averaging 70-84 highs in the summer, with lows in the 50's. Mild winters with highs averaging 46-60 and lows in the upper 30's.

Swisshome is 8 miles east of Mapleton on the Siuslaw River. This country is absolutely gorgeous. Lake Creek that flows out of Triangle Lake meets the Siuslaw River at Swisshome. Old Stagecoach Rd. follows the Siuslaw River roughly southeast from Swisshome and in roughly 12 miles you will come to Richardson Rd which will cross the Siuslaw River and put you right on Hwy 126 between Florence and Eugene. The Old Stagecoach Rd is not heavily traveled with roughly 8 miles of it being gravel, but if you ever want to see some beautiful country with very in-expensive real estate prices this is it.

Real Estate prices in Mapleton are low compared with Florence on the coast, yet you are only 15 miles away and 45 miles to Eugene Oregon. Because of it's ideal location Mapleton and Swisshome are considered a good buy right now with River Frontage Homes still affordable including Duncan Island which is on the Siuslaw River.

This area is heavily timbered with streams and creeks everywhere and real estate priced low in these areas. Its history was logging, and with most of the mills shut down it currently offers low priced real estate. If you compare real estate prices and beauty of the area with just about anywhere else in the Western US, you will not find a better location. Florence Oregon was named the #1 Place to Retire for these reasons.
