Part of the real beauty of living on the Oregon Coast is to see homes and neighborhoods built in natural settings with good sized yards. Neighborhoods like Idylewood and Haceta South in the beach area are good examples of this type living.
Residents of these areas enjoy the natural scenery and wild animals that roam the area. The homes are set apart enough that you still have neighbors but you feel like you own some of the forest too.
Most people that I show homes to will be moving to this area to get out of the
traditional subdivision with cookie cutter homes nearly stacked on each other. Many have expressed to me that they love the beauty of the natural coastal vegetation including a variety of berries like blackberries, blueberries and huckleberries. I personally would like to see more neighborhoods like these as opposed to the developers that come in and clear cut an area including most, if not all the trees. It just doesn't make sense to me to completely clear large parcels of land to build, when you could spend a little time planning to save much of the natural beauty.
Homes in Idylewood currently range in price from just under $300,000 to just under $500,000 with building lots still available priced from about $79,000 to $115,000 and ranging in size from .32 acre to .42 acre or 14,000 square feet to over 18,000 square feet.
