Do-Follow Blog Rules
To increase participation in my Oregon Real Estate Blog, I have added do-follow attribute. This is important for a couple of reasons:
- The do-follow attribute is designed to give link juice to my online friends. I also want to encourage conversations to build more friendships. Because of the do-follow attribute ALL comments will be Moderated, meaning I have to approve them before they will be added.
- What does all this really mean? When you post a comment using your Name or Handle along with your website address you will be seen by the search engines. Link Juice is important to our rankings! Most of us participate in online communities for a couple reasons - it's fun, and it's good for business.
- Because it is fun I have added the ability for email notification, so when you comment on a post and someone else makes a comment you will be notified by email. You may want to make another comment. The whole idea is to engage in conversations and enjoy it.
- If you feel my website would add value to your online community, please add a link to my website. If you have questions about it please don't hesitate to contact me.
Now the Rules
- Spammy comments and/or anchor text links to your website will not be allowed. Please use your Name or Handle as long as it is not deemed anchor text, otherwise a no-follow will be added to your comment or your post will be deleted.
- Don't comment just for a link, try to add something of value in your comments. You are wasting my time and yours if you post spam.
- Again we are looking for comments that make a difference, don't post comments like "me too" or "I agree". You get the idea, they will be deleted.
- I will also look at the type of website you are linking, if I deem it to be a bad neighborhood it will be deleted. What do I mean by bad neighborhood? A few examples would be pornographic, gambling, or excessively spammy sites.
Have Fun! By participating you will most likely gain new friends as you see them make comments you may want to come back to add more to the conversation.
