– 23rd . The Florence, Oregon Chapter of Lane County Home Builders Association has scheduled its annual Tour of Homes the same weekend as the annual Chowder, Blues & Brews festival.
The HBA tour features homes throughout Florence and is open to the public. Tour maps will be available at the Tour of Homes booth at the Florence Events Center during the Chowder, Blues & Brews event.
The combination of two major events on the same weekend in late September, which usually offers some of the best weather on the rugged and scenic Oregon coast, will make for an event you will not want to miss. Make plans now to attend.

The Florence Oregon Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 12th Annual Chowder, Blues & Brews Festival on September 21, 22, & 23 featuring some of the finest blues music that Oregon has to offer, microbrews from 5 of Oregon's best microbreweries and the Oregon Coast Professional Chowder Cook-Off.
The festivities kick-off Friday afternoon at the Florence Events Center rocking with great blues artists from the Western Oregon area, followed Saturday with the seventh annual Oregon Coast Professional Chowder Cook-Off People’s Choice tasting starting at 1:00 pm which lasts until the chowder is gone. Festival goers will have a chance to taste the best chowder the Oregon Coast has to offer from communities extending from Astoria to Brookings.

FLORENCE, Oregon - Wanted: 250 new employees in a town of less than 10,000 people.
It's not every day that an employer in the City of Rhododendrons posts a job ad like that. But Friday August 24th, 2007, the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians began hiring in anticipation of the newer, bigger Three Rivers Casino and Hotel opening at year's end.
The tribe kicked off the Grand Opening of a new employment and information center with what some are calling a hiring boom, at the renovated site of the former Windward Inn.
All employees who work more than 32 hours a week get medical benefits. Open positions include blackjack dealers, cooks and managers.
